US arms sales to Arab countries
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on May 25 that he
would sell $ 800 billion worth of weapons to Arab countries to halt Iran's
aggression in the Middle East. Under the Arms Export Control Act, $ 810 billion
worth of ammunition, bombs and missiles are being sent to Saudi Arabia, Jordan

York from June 14-18.

Another five-year ban on the LTTE
The Sri Lankan Tamil separatist Liberation Tigers of Tamil
Eelam (LTTE) has issued a ban on the central government for another five years.
The Union Home Ministry said in a notification that the ban has been extended
under the Illegal Activities Act 1967. Following the assassination of Rajiv
Gandhi in 1991, India has banned the LTTE. The last time the company extended
its ban was in 2014. Although the Sri Lankan army completely wiped out the LTTE
in 2009, the separate Tamil state claims that the argument is not yet complete.

Massive earthquake in Papua New Guinea
A massive earthquake on May 7 in Papua New Guinea. Its

of the US sanctions. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani announced on May 8 that
he would honor the promise made to the top states in 2015 that he would
restrict nuclear tests. The United States will continue to do so until the
latest sanctions are lifted. The United States, Britain, China, France,
Germany, Russia and Iran signed an agreement on nuclear tests in 2015. The
agreement requires Iran to export its refined uranium and heavy water and
reduce its reserves. Because of that agreement, some of the sanctions against
