Aston University Campus


Established in 1895 as the Birmingham Municipal Technical School, The University is located on a 40 acre (16 hectare) campus in Gosta Green in the city center of Birmingham, England. Besides being home to more than 2,300 students, Aston University campus has the following services available: sports centers, swimming pool, fitness station 120, library, cafes, restaurants, pubs, shops, travel center, hair salon, health, dental, places of worship, optical, bank, ATMs and space.

The Aston University Library is on four floors and contains more than 250,000 books, 800 print journals and has more than 700 reading spaces. It provides online access to over 40 electronic databases and over 3,400 electronic journals. The Library is open 24 hours a day for students and staff during the course of Aston.

Throughout the campus there are several open access IT suites, offering access to a computer and internet access 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They offer access to a range of software packages, database systems and computer-aided learning materials.

Aston has plenty of sports facilities on campus, including a 25 meter swimming pool, sauna and steam room, two sports halls, 120 Station Gym, weights and fitness rooms, two floors, dance studio and 35 clubs sports to participate in. The campus also has two lighted fields sports 3G. The clubs train and compete, many in the British University and Colleges Sports Association (BUCS) leagues. Outside the campus operates a 40-acre field with sports fields, pavilion with lighting for all outdoor sports.
