London College of Fashion (LCF) is a constituent college of the University of the Arts London, offering undergraduate, postgraduate courses, short and business training, fashion, makeup, beauty therapy and style industries life. It is the only university in the UK specializing in fashion education, research and consultancy.
History
The University was originally founded by former London County Council in 1906 as the Shoreditch Technical Institute Girls School and St Bartlett and Clapham Trade School, which opened to train young people in the art of making clothes, hats, embroidery and hairdressing. The university was formerly the home of Mrs. Eleanor Holles School (which relocated to Hampton, Surrey). The London County Council was abolished and replaced later with the Inner London Education Authorityuntil 1986. The two institutions later merged to form a school for clothing stores: London College of Fashion. Cordwainers College is now a comprehensive school at the London College of Fashion. Previously Cordwainers Technical School ', was a training center for footwear and leather crafts. The former director of the university, Sandra Holtby, was awarded the OBE in the New Year Honours 2006. The current head of the University is Professor Frances Corner OBE.
Campus
the main university building on Prince Street Juan is located just off Oxford Street, just north of Oxford Circus which is mainly administrative Rootstein Hopkins apart from space, which is used to house various fashion shows and other fashion events. E-learning short courses are a way to study a short course without attending classes LCF in London. Students attend weekly pre-arranged "virtual conference. Study Abroad
Programs of study abroad is an opportunity to study in London for students who can not participate in undergraduate programs and credits can be studied by staff or pleasure.
